Artist bio
Framrásson are an indie pop band from Reykjavik, Iceland consisting of Maximus Olivrsson (vocals), Stefan Stefansson (strings), Kolbjorn Knudsen (brass), Pjetur Bergman (percussion). They began independently producing alternative/indie music and releasing it on SoundCloud after meeting at Reykjavik University in 2013. The name comes from the Icelandic work for progression 'framrás' and 'son' a conventional ending of Icelandic surnames. Their first song "Frankfurt Dreamland" went viral and after releasing an EP, they began to make a name of themselves among the Icelandic indie pop scene. Performing at pubs and clubs a small fan base started to emerge and this continued to grow until they were signed by the record label Fat Dog Records in 2014. After their second EP was released they were given the opportunity to support Swim Deep on their tour of the UK, playing at venues including King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, The Deaf Institue, Sneaky Pete's, Brixton Academy and Alexandra Palace. They are about to release their first album Sons of Progression on April 20th 2016.
